Student Driving Policy

Objective: To create a safe and orderly means of transportation for students who are of the legal driving age.

Scope: All students 16 years of age or older who hold a valid driver’s license.

GUIDELINES

Students must submit a completed Parking Permit Application to the office at least 3 days prior to driving to school.

Parking Permit Applications must include the following information to be considered complete:
1. Driver’s License Number
2. Vehicle Information
3. Insurance Information
4. Student Signature
5. Parent Signature

STUDENT DRIVERS MUST COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS:

All vehicles driven to school must be on file in the school office, and students must display Liberty parking sticker.

Any vehicle changes or additions during the school year must be immediately reported to the office.

The school is NOT responsible for vehicles or their contents while they are parked on school property.

Any vehicle parked illegally in fire lanes or handicapped areas may be ticketed or towed; the student will be responsible for all fees.

Students are not allowed to go to their car during the school day without administrative approval.

Students may not leave the premises during the school day including the lunch period. Juniors and Seniors may leave during lunch with school and parental approval, and must be in good academic and behavioral standing before consideration.

In case of an accident in the parking lot or on school grounds, students are expected to exchange insurance and license information with the other party. They must also inform the Upper School Director to determine if privileges should be suspended due to the accident.

Driving to school privileges may be suspended or revoked under the following circumstances:
1. The rules above are not obeyed
2. Excessive tardiness or absences occur
3. Other behavioral and/or driving violations
4. Any unsafe driving practices observed during student arrival or dismissal time
