Substitute Teachers

Liberty Classical Academy is a Christian, classical preschool-12th-grade private school with two locations in White Bear Lake and Hugo, MN. We are accepting applications for substitute teachers for all grade levels starting in the fall of 2025.  Substitute Teachers are responsible for implementing teacher substitute plans, creating a positive learning environment, following classroom procedures, and building strong student relationships.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred, not required
  • State Certification preferred, not required
  • Dedication to students’ learning
  • Prior experience in a classroom. Knowledge of classical teaching methods is preferred.
  • Embrace a Christ-centered program that cares for the child with initiative, creativity, and energy.

Pay

  • $40–$160 per day, depending on assignment length (0–8 hours)

STAFF POSITIONS

Early Childhood Support Teacher (Full-Time)

Liberty Classical Academy – Hugo Campus (Hugo, MN)

Liberty Classical Academy is a Christ-centered, classical Preschool–12th grade private school with campuses in White Bear Lake and Hugo, Minnesota. We are seeking a warm, organized, and dependable Early Childhood Support Teacher to join our team at the Hugo campus.

This full-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children in a small-class, faith-based environment with a year-round schedule. The Support Teacher plays an important role in supporting daily classroom leadership and program continuity when the Early Childhood Lead is offsite, while being part of a collaborative and supportive school community that values growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom & Program Leadership

  • Lead daily Early Childhood classroom activities, including gym time, crafts, story time, free play, and recess, alongside other childcare staff
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
  • Supervise children and support positive routines and transitions
  • Assist with and help lead emergency drills (fire, storm, etc.)
  • Conduct regular safety checks of classroom equipment (cribs, pack-n-plays, etc.)

Administrative & Support Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary classroom contact when the Early Childhood Lead is offsite
  • Assist with licensing documentation and classroom records
  • Communicate with parents regarding scheduling updates and drop-in requests
  • Coordinate substitute coverage as needed
  • Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate lesson plans
  • Oversee student check-in and check-out procedures

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers (birth–3 years preferred)
  • Completion of a child development/early childhood education program or at least 6 months licensed childcare experience with 30 hours of related training
  • A heart for serving children within a Christ-centered educational environment
  • Willingness to complete required state certifications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty, and administrators
  • Organized, dependable, and able to take initiative when needed

Schedule, Pay & Benefits

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (year-round, including summer program)
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay Range: $17–$19 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Part-Time Administrative Assistant

Location: Liberty Classical Academy – Hugo Campus
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (8-hour days; 24 hours/week)
Compensation: $18–$20 per hour, commensurate with experience
Reports To: Lower School Director (Preschool-2nd Grade)

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Part-Time Administrative Assistant to support our Lower School Director and the day-to-day operations at our Hugo campus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the Director’s schedule, including arranging meetings
  • Greet and assist students, families, visitors, and staff
  • Answer and direct phone calls and emails professionally
  • Maintain student records and assist with data entry
  • Prepare printed materials for meetings, events, and student needs
  • Help coordinate division-related activities
  • Provide general administrative support to faculty and school leadership
  • Coordinate staff appreciation activities, including workshop meals and breaks
  • Serve as the point of contact with vendors and employees regarding space-use requests
  • Maintain tidy, functional workspaces
  • Plan and execute event receptions for the Lower School
  • Purchase needed event items and track purchases
  • Coordinate volunteers as needed for various school functions

Preschool Teacher's Aide

Liberty Classical Academy is a Christian, classical Preschool-12th grade private school with two locations in White Bear Lake and Hugo, MN, and we are adding to our tremendous team of experienced and talented teachers! We are accepting applications for Preschool Teacher’s Aide. The Teacher's Aide assists teachers in providing a caring and safe atmosphere where children are encouraged to grow spiritually, physically, intellectually, and emotionally.

Qualifications

  • Age 18+
  • Prior experience in a classroom. Knowledge of classical teaching methods is preferred.
  • Embrace a Christ-centered program that cares for the child with initiative, creativity, and energy.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with students, parents, faculty, and administrators with strong, interpersonal competency.

Responsibilities

  • Support the classroom teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities
  • Provide care and supervision for children in the Before School program
  • Assist in supervising students during recess and lunch periods
  • Help prepare materials for classroom activities
  • Engage with children during play, learning activities, and transitions
  • Support children with self-help skills such as handwashing, snack time, and putting on outerwear
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Communicate positively and professionally with children, families, and staff
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and school events as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or administrator
