Liberty Classical Academy Celebrates Opening of New High School Building with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

New facility features gymnasium, performing arts spaces, and oversized science laboratories

HUGO, MN – October 2, 2026 – Liberty Classical Academy held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week to celebrate the opening of its new high school building at the school’s Hugo campus. Students, families, faculty, and community members gathered on Homecoming to mark the milestone.

Remarks were given by Mrs. Rebekah Hagstrom, Head of School at Liberty Classical Academy, and Dr. Corbin Hoornbeek, President of the University of Northwestern – St. Paul. The ceremony concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon, followed by refreshments and a home volleyball game.

The new building gives Liberty Classical Academy students a state-of-the-art learning environment that includes a new, varsity size gymnasium with locker rooms and a weight room. Dedicated and acoustically-equipped choir and band rooms, three science laboratories, and a beautiful commons area for the students.

Construction began in the Fall of 2025 through Gunderson Construction. Liberty is grateful to all of the supporters who made this dream possible!
