Headmaster Blog: A Great Resource for Age & Stage Parenting
In an age where information on every topic under the sun is available at our fingertips, it is difficult to know which sources to trust. When it comes to raising children, the stakes are high, and the information overload is staggering. Often there are competing messages as to which parenting strategies are effective and which are not. There are so many fads, trends, blogs, podcasts, Instagram posts and TikTok influencers that sincere parents can easily become overwhelmed or paralyzed as they sift through it all.
It’s in that context that I want to recommend a new and reliable parenting resource recently launched by Focus on the Family Ministries. Focus on the Family was started by Dr. James Dobson, a PhD in child psychology, who had a passion for providing parenting support from a Biblical perspective. He started a radio show that has an international following. His common sense, guilt free approach to parenting always reflects a deep understanding of normal child development and a willingness to consider each child’s unique attributes—both good and challenging.
Focus on the Family recognized the lack of “focused” Biblical parenting resources and launched a new resource called “Age and Stage,” which is a series of emails directed to busy parents for every stage of a child’s development (including parenting adult children!). The emails are free and come regularly.

The parents of today have a very difficult task: to raise grounded, Godly children who are strong, confident and resilient, while also protecting them from all the dangers of social media, video games, screen use in general, and an ever-darkening world. Intentional parents are looking for help. This is an excellent resource!
