Mrs. Kristan Johnson

Grade Taught at Liberty: Fifth Grade Teacher

Hometown: Saint Paul, MN

Degree: Elementary education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Go Gophers!!

Previous Work Experience: Taught elementary science and kindergarten classes in multiple homeschool co-op‘s for the last 12 years. I home educated my three daughters through high school. Prior to that I managed the YMCA School Age Childcare Program for the Mounds View School district.

Hobbies: Game nights with my family is my favorite activity. My husband made a corn hole set recently so we’ve been playing it a lot and getting really good! I love reading! I’m in a book club that’s been meeting for over 10 years. I also love to travel especially to places where we can hike and be outdoors. My cat Texas is my special buddy.

Fun fact: My husband Gary and I lived in Romania for two years as missionaries before our children were born. We worked with young people and loved introducing many to the joy of having a personal relationship with Jesus.

Favorite Bible Verse: I have many favorite Bible verses but my current one is....1 Timothy 4:10

“For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”

 

Mr. Jim Langager [pronounced - LONG - AUGER] (a.k.a. Mr. "L")

Grade/Courses Teaching at Liberty: 5th Grade All Subjects; History instructor to both sections of Fifth Grade

Hometown: Epping, ND

Degree in Elementary Education - Montana State University-Billings; Additional Graduate Course Work at Seattle Pacific University in Learning Styles and Teaching Students with Special Needs

Previous Work Experience: Riverside Christian School, Grand Forks, ND (K-8 Music, Junior High English and History - 1 year); Central Montana Christian School, Lewistown, MT (5th-6th Grades - 2 years); Gig Harbor Christian School, Gig Harbor WA (4th - 6th Grades - 4 years); Founding Teacher, Principal, Teacher of various subjects and Grades 3 - 8 at Lighthouse Christian School, Gig Harbor, WA -span of 20 years; Cedar Park Christian School, Bothell, WA (Lead Teacher, 5th Grade - 3 years); the last two years I lived on my farm near Minot, ND, substitute taught in the public school, and had red and black Angus beef cattle.

Hobbies: hiking, gardening, music, Bible study, animals, reading quality books

Fun Fact: Growing up I had a Palomino/Tennessee Walking Horse that was the grandson of Roy Roger's (retro movie star) horse Trigger.

Mrs. Amber Seeger

Grade/Courses Teaching at Liberty: Preschool

Hometown: Hastings, MN

Degree: I don't have one. I went to school for nursing, and got my Nursing Assistant Certificate. I have experience working with children, from leading Awana, VBS, and the Nursery, as well as being the Child Coordinator for MOPS at my church, volunteering with children's ministry, and my husband and I are licensed Foster Care Providers.

Previous Work Experience: Stillwater District ECFE Preschool Assistant for 2 years, before that I worked in the ICU at Lakeview Hospital as Nurses Station Technician.

Hobbies: Gardening, playing tennis traveling and being with my family and friends

Fun Fact: I have a really big heart, and I empathize with others very easily.

Ms. Lea Stang

Grade/Courses Teaching at Liberty: 7th & 8th Grade History

Hometown: Inver Grove Heights, MN

Degree: University of Northwestern-St. Paul, Social Studies Education major and a Bible minor

Previous Work Experience: I worked for five summers as a counselor at Camp Shamineau and worked as a Youth Coordinator of the youth group at my church this year. These jobs and my education at Northwestern have shaped me into the educator I am today and made me realize the importance of a Christian worldview reflected in curriculum.

Hobbies: Reading historical fiction, being outside (hiking and camping), and spending time with family and friends.

Fun Fact: I own a collection of ancient pottery and Civil War memorabilia
